Misfits recruit drummer Dave Lombardo for reunion shows

The Misfits have confirmed that former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo will be part of the lineup for their upcoming reunion shows at Riot Fest on both September 2 and September 16. "The Misfits created the horror punk attitude and had a massive influence on modern rock, punk and metal," Lombardo tells Rolling Stone. "It was an easy decision for me to join them for these monumental shows. I was honored to be asked, and am very excited to be playing with the band." "I first met Dave back in 1988 when Danzig did four shows with Slayer in the U.S., before the first Danzig album was released," Danzig explains. "Dave is one of the best drummers around, and I can't wait for everyone to see him pounding Misfits songs live for these special shows."

Slayer_fanboy, here always thought paul bostaph drumming was better and heavier. Dave is all noise snare and cymbals

anonymous 8/29/2016 8:08:08 AM

^ agreed. My only beef with Bostaph was that he couldn't pull off the double bass solo in Angel of Death live.

anonymous 8/29/2016 8:32:34 AM

Wrong. Dave > Paul. Drumming on Season outshines anything Bostaph ever did. Plus Paul's stuff is all nu-metal inspired.

anonymous 8/29/2016 8:37:50 AM

Paul's drumming is NOT nu-metal inspired you nuJack. The entire band's writing style was for a few 'meh' records but Paul's drumming on Divine Intervention plus the Testament, Exodus and Forbidden records is straight thrash. Dude shreds. I love them both though. Lombardo will kill it with the Misfits.

It warms my heart that the younger generations understand the greatness of Paul Bostaph.

Those two dumbasses above arguing.... Hilarious. I'd imagine neither have seen sunlight in a while.

I think Hannemans picking was better before the spider bite, and not as heavy as when he was on a drunken coke bender. This song ain't 'bout no tuna fish, this song ain't 'bout no trout.

Next up World "Reunion" Tour with Guns N(o Adler) Roses , FLAG , Black Flag , Michael Graves Acoustic Set (Performing Misfits Hits) , Dead Kennedys , and Jello Biafra .

Lombardo is better than Bostaph, Gene Hoglan is better than both seeing how he essentially taught Dave & Paul how to play double bass

anonymous 8/31/2016 4:47:21 PM

Dave speeded up his fast double kick parts on the chorus of War Ensemble ..he was having issues and have to do the parts in half time then my speeded them up for the final drum track..true story..

anonymous 8/31/2016 5:53:46 PM

Mishits AMIRITE!?!?

anonymous 9/1/2016 12:09:34 PM

nope. Chuck Biscuits is better than Dave (for Misfits drums). F#ck you Glenn.

"Lombardo is better than Bostaph, Gene Hoglan is better than both seeing how he essentially taught Dave & Paul how to play double bass" - Pretty much this.
