Unlocking The Truth set to release debut album

Tue, March 29, 2016 8:56 AM PT4,893 views

Unlocking The Truth, the teenage metal band from Brooklyn who famously signed a large deal with Sony in 2014, will release their debut full-length album in June. Titled Chaos, the outing was produced by Johnny K (Megadeth) and will hit streets on June 17 via independent distributor Tunecore. Frontman Malcolm Brickhouse had this to say: "We can't wait for everyone to hear our album. We've worked very hard to give the fans something they'll love and never forget. We hope they are able to relate to the songs the way that we do and have the time of their lives listening to them. We know that this album will blow you guys away."

Were they signed to a major label because they really ARE mind blowing by mainstream music fans standards or is it simply for the novelty factor? I wasn't really impressed with their street performance video.

Yeah so after posting my question in the 4th comment, I watched a recent live footage and reached a verdict: If this were some mid 20's Caucasian band, their best bet will be playing some local battle of the bands show. There is nothing new or breathtakingly about their music. You can see the fans with the "they are not supposed to be rocking but they are" smirk faces. But hey if that moves records off the shelves, more power to them.

these kids have accomplished more in their lives already than the majority of you ever will. What did they accomplish? They're a bad band signed because of a gimmick. If the accomplishment is signing a huge deal that you later whine about and get yourself out of, well there ya have it. The label, which they left, bought them onto some tours as promo.

also, have fun delivering my pizza for the rest of your lives. You think these dudes won't be delivering takeout as soon as they're old enough for jobs?

Let me unlock the truth for you: They are the Silverchair and the Hansen and the Kriss Kross of heavy music. The minute the members turn 18 they'll be abandoned by the major label. And gear wise, their music sounds like one of those toy electric guitars you get for Christmas where you push a button and it creates a distortion sound.
