Canadian deathcore exports Despised Icon has apparently enjoyed playing reunion shows during the past two years, because they'll apparently be undertaking a more permanent existence. Here's what the band had to say:

Hate all you want, but these dudes have tons of presence on stage, and play their songs flawlessly. Something you rarely hear with bands anymore. That and they're heavy as alls live.

One of the best early deathcore bands. Great low vocals, pig squeals, dissonant and down tempo breakdowns, rawness. Finally an actual good band making a comeback.
This makes no sense. These guys have what it takes to become something big.

their first album was shitty death metal, split with bitgota and the healing process were both awesome. i never listened after that

The most surprising thing about this is they apparently have seven members. Never woulda thunk it. I dig the deathcore progenitors, but them having seven members makes as much sense as Chelsea Grin having three guitarists. I hope they continue to wear basketball jerseys and flat-billed hats.

one of those "the drummer saves the whole set" bands. there are some awesome parts for sure but some riffs are borderline obnoxious with use of minor 2nds and pinch harmonics. totally forgot the song but the vocals on top were all bree too. So funny.
Wasn't it only like a year or two ago when they quit. Hah. Wow. How fcking silly. It really saddens me how terrible both d I and Ion d got. Just both are not even listenable really towards the end.
