Metallica, Deftones slated for U.S. Rock In Rio

Metallica and Deftones are among the headliners confirmed for the first-ever United States installment of the Rock In Rio festival, scheduled to take place May 8-9 and May 15-16 in Las Vegas, NV. The fest will be comprised of six stages. "From the first Rock in Rio festival in Brazil in 1985 to next year's anniversary and Las Vegas launch, it's been an amazing journey with Rock In Rio fans and the artists that have taken part in the festival," says Rock In Rio executive vice president Roberta Medina. "We're thrilled to see the construction of our first U.S. City Of Rock and to announce the first artists who will perform in Las Vegas in May 2015." Joining Metallica on the Main Stage will be Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, and No Doubt. Meanwhile, in addition to the Deftones, John Legend will also headline the Sunset Stage. Additional performers have yet to be announced.
