Official press release: Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Philadelphia, PA heavy psych quartet Ecstatic Vision (Doug Sabolick - guitars / B3 / vox, Michael Field Connor - bass, Jordan Crouse - Drums / percussion, Muffinman - percussion). Formed earlier this year, the group has quickly made a name for themselves in Philly, having already played numerous high profile shows. The group is kicking off a short run of tour dates tomorrow in Harrisonburg, VA including a stop at Meltasia Festival in Lafayette, GA alongside Black Lips, Nik Turner's Hawkwind, Danava and many more. Ecstatic Vision will complete the recording of their full-length debut upon their return which will be released via Relapse in early 2015. A demo for the song "To The Astral Plane," from the band's upcoming debut, can be heard below while footage of the group live can be viewed here. Frontman Doug Sabolick commented on the new material: "We are currently recording our debut album at various studios around Philly. The album is a great mix of trance inducing primitive African tribal meets heavy psych a la Hawkwind. We are stoked to be working hand in hand with Relapse to bring this unique album to fruition and bring our brand of heavy psych to the masses."

hahaha these guys used to be a legit metalcore band circa 90's-00's....seen them play a few shows in St.louis....before that circa early 90's the were all g-funk....now they are making the kind of ambient any 12 yr old can do messing around in his bedroom. Oh my the mighty has fallen lol
