Impact changes band name

California hardcore band Impact has now officially changed their name to Stand And Fight. The change comes as a result of several other bands and zines also using the name "Impact," creating some confusion for the public. According to the band, "We feel that our new name represents the spirit and the message that we're trying to get across. Please don't think that we're trying to come off as a 'tough guy' band or a 'hate edge' band, because we definitely aren't about that." Meanwhile, the group plans to enter Atomic Studios with Dean Baltulonis and Matt Henderson to record a full-length this Fall. In the interim, they will be recording six new songs along with an older track for a Bridge Nine Records 7". That release will also coincide with the release of the band's demo, also to be available on 7" through Bridge Nine. Look for both releases in Spring/Summer.
