Fan dies following stage dive at Miss May I show

This morning reports started circulating online that a fan had been injured while stage diving at a Miss May I show last night at the Studio at Webster Hall in New York City. Our research indicates that said fan was named Alberto or Berto and died in the hospital. Reportedly, the fan jumped from the stage, was not caught, and landed on his head. The show was subsequently stopped. This afternoon Miss May I released the following statement:
"Hey everyone, we are aware of the incident that occurred at Webster Hall last night and will be posting a statement shortly. However, we are awaiting further information regarding the situation before we are able to make a full statement."
For what it's worth, we found the following information on Reddit.com (yes, this person was upset about not receiving his free CD):
"I was at the show. At the time they were mid-song and shut them down so what apparently happened was some time during their set [someone] stage dived and no one caught him. What really sucked was everyone was supposed to get a free CD... they just kicked every one out including the band."
UPDATE #1: Various reports state that the victim was 21 year-old Alberto Scott (this is supposedly his Instagram). Friends have started collecting donations for his funeral expenses via gofundme.com. UPDATE #2: Brooklyn Vegan has obtained comment from Webster Hall, in which the venue states that despite previous reports, "the patron in question did not die while stage diving. The patron collapsed while exiting the venue, as video footage and the police corroborate." UPDATE #3: Miss May I has issued another statement on the matter:
"As many of you will have heard, Alberto Scott, a Miss May I fan in attendance at our Webster Hall show on Saturday night tragically died. We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear this news. We are awaiting a full report from the New York Police Department. In the meantime, we'd ask that all your thoughts and prayers be with his family. We have been made aware of a webpage that is raising funds to help pay for his funeral costs. We will be making a contribution and we'd strongly urge others to do so."
UPDATE #4: Miss May I has commented further on the tragedy:
"Hey everyone, apologies for the radio silence these last couple of days. After what happened we've all taken some time to reflect but we had to speak up today to give our heartfelt thanks. "First and foremost, to those who've reached out to offer their sympathies or who've kept Alberto and his family in their thoughts and prayers. In particular to all those who donated to his family; after only a few days they have almost reached their fundraising goal. If you can spare any amount, no matter how small, it will be greatly appreciated. You can do so here www.gofundme.com/8vjoqc "We're also looking into an auction. Something unique from the band will be listed online in the coming weeks; with the proceeds to go to Alberto's family also. More news on that very soon.
