Megadeth kicks Jason Newsted off Australian shows

Poor Jason Perhaps still lashing out at all things Metallica, Dave Mustaine and Megadeth have reportedly had Newsted (featuring ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted) removed from the bill for the band's forthcoming "Sidewave" shows in Australia. Whitechapel will now step in to fill the vacancy. Here's the official word from festival organizers:
"At the request of Megadeth, Newsted will not be playing the [February 25 and February 27] Sidewave shows and instead will be replaced by Whitechapel."
UPDATE: Megadeth tour manager Jim Carroccio tells ABC News Radio that Dave Mustaine was not involved in the decision to remove Newsted from the bill. Carroccio had the following to say: "Dave Mustaine is not responsible for booting Newsted off. Dave did not put him on the bill and did not take him off the bill. Dave submitted a list of bands he was comfortable with and the promoter ignored the list. Dave and Jason are friends, this has blown up into something silly."
