Stay Gold officially calls it quits

Thursday, January 23, 2003 10:01 PM PT

After months of uncertainty and rumors, Stay Gold has officially broken up. Formed in 2000, the Seattle hardcore band has previously released two 7"s, in addition to last year's "Pills And Advice" full-length on Indecision Records. Here's a portion of the official band statement regarding the break-up:

"After a series of disappointments and unfortunate circumstances, Stay Gold collectively decided to call it a day. It's a story anyone who's ever been in a band could understand. Nothing extraordinary. People stop getting along. People move on and away from things like hardcore, or music. For months now we have been toying with ideas of doing something else, assuring everyone that perhaps this indeed was simply a hiatus. But month after month, it becomes clear that this is not the case."

Talks are currently in the works for a final show, and although a date hasn't yet been set, it will probably take place this Summer.
