Cro-Mags sue Harley Flanagan for NYC brawlThursday, June 27, 2013 11:54 AM PT / 11,955 views
According to the New York Post, New York City hardcore band the Cro-Mags is suing ex-bassist Harley Flanagan over the backstage altercation that took place at the CBGB Fest at New York's Webster Hall last summer. Flanagan was originally charged with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon after he allegedly bit current Cro-Mags bass player Michael Couls and slashed William Berardo with a knife. Criminal charges against Flanagan were ultimately dropped, but the NY Post says that Couls and Berardo are now suing Flanagan for the attack in addition to suing Webster Hall for failing to provide adequate security. "The uninvited defendant, Harley Flanagan, gained access to the VIP area "because the hall failed to hire sufficiently trained security personal to protect the plaintiffs," the Manhattan Supreme Court suit alleges. UPDATE: In a move I was personally expecting, Cro-Mags frontman John Joseph has responded to the flurry of news posts (including ours, obviously) stating that the Cro-Mags aren't suing Harley Flanagan:
"The Cro-Mags aren't suing anyone so get your f*cking fax straight people... our part-time fill in bass player is suing Webster Hall for his hospital bills. The Cro-Mags aren't suing anyone. I don't give two fux about all this but when you outright post bullshit I'm gonna speak on it."
