The Scheme news, side-project, etc.

By now, many of you have listened to the Scheme MP3's that were posted on their recently (the files are currently unavailable due to excessive bandwidth). In case you didn't know, the Scheme is a new band featuring former Drowningman vocalist Simon Brody in addition to Denny Donovan, Todd Tomlinson, Peter Martin (Lifetime), and Ian Miller (Redemption 87). The songs were recorded on Donovan's 16-track at the band's practice space, and according to the band, "the responses have been great." The group is currently gearing up to start playing shows on the West Coast and they are looking to promoters for assistance. If you can help out, email them here. The Scheme is still in the process of deciding with whom to release their debut album, but we'll keep you posted. In related news, Brody, Donovan, and Tomlinson are also working on a side-project tentatively entitled Black Tie Knife Fight. This project will be more metal/hardcore oriented and according to Brody, "if you like the wounded-animal vocals and the fast tech-stuff," this might be up your alley. The outfit hopes to enter the studio by the end of December and release something next year. If you run a label and are interested in the project, send an email to the address above. Finally, fans have apparently been inquiring about old Drowningman merchandise. Record collectors can email the aforementioned address to bid on the following limited-supply items: "Weighted and Weighed Down" Hydrahead 7" copies on back as well as marbled grey "Dillinger/Dm split" Hydrahead 7" only 2000 copies made. Black/blue/yellow "Busy Signal at The Suicide Hotline" Hydrahead LP black/gold "How they light cigarettes in prison" 7" Rev. Red "Rock and Roll Killing Machine" LP Rev. Red "Drowningman Still Loves You" 10" EVR. Clear/Clear Gold Supplies are limited, and some will be kept for posterity, so only serious offers will be considered. One last note from Brody on the matter regarding payment - "Means of tender- cash, prescription drugs, homemade alcohol, or video footage of this year's set at Krazy Fest. Stay in school."
