Swedish death metal band Aeon (Metal Blade Records) has now announced that fill-in drummer Emil Wiksten has joined the group's permanent lineup. Here's the official word:
"As we stated a couple of weeks ago, Arttu Malkki decided to take a longer break from the band to focus on his family and their newborn twins. Emil Wiksten stepped in as temporary replacement for him and did his first stage appearance with us during our recently finished UK/IRE headline tour. Besides being a real nice and easy dude, Emil delivered a killer performance each night and he shows a great deal of passion for his drumming. And with our recently released album Aeons Black, there is a lot of good things coming our way and we felt that we needed to have a solid lineup where everyone in the band is involved and has the same goal. Aeon really needs to be everyone's top priority and you can't obviously expect a temporary drummer to prioritize a band that he is not a member of, so therefore we gave Emil the opportunity to fill the spot permanently which he gladly accepted.
"So with this we would like to thank Arttu for his time in the band and we wishes him all the best with his new family. And now, lets raise the horns and welcome the mighty Emil Wiksten to the Aeon family as our new permanent drummer."
