The Contortionist to release new album in July

Official press release: The Contortionist will release their new record "Intrinsic" on July 17th, 2012 via eOne Music/Good Fight Music. "On 'Intrinsic', we've found ourselves focusing on the songwriting as well as the new textures and melody we're striving for. Each song has its own identity and flow, but the album is fun to listen through in order cause of the conceptual ties," says vocalist/keyboardist Jonathan Carpenter. Produced and recorded by Eyal Levi (Daath, Job For A Cowboy) and Jason Suecof (Trivium, Devildriver) at Audiohammer Studios, this is by far the band's most far reaching material to date. 01. Holomovement 02. Feedback Loop 03. Causality 04. Sequential Vision 05. Geocentric Confusion 06. Dreaming Schematics 07. Anatomy Anomalies 08. Cortical 09. Solipsis 10. Parallel Trance

"stop steaming up my tail. what do you wanna do? wrinkle it?" talked with these guys when they were in Columbus at the Bluestone. They were bad-ass (blew all other bands out) and were very excited to start recording. Glad to see another tour in the future.

I was definitely excited to hear new content from this band until I heard Dreaming Schematics on youtube. They played about 20 minutes away from me last Tuesday and after hearing that single song I had ZERO interest in wasting my time. I hope the release will change my mind, but I don't have much hope.

Between this, the new Periphery, and Glass CLoud, July sounds like a great month for good music!

anonymous 5/30/2012 7:58:07 PM

Vocalist is so generic sounding. This band hasn't been good since 2009.
