Burnt By The Sun news and notes

After two months of searching for the right guitar player, Burnt By The Sun has decided to add some new equipment and continue on as a four-piece. Tryouts began after they parted ways with guitarist Chris Rascio in May. Here's what vocalist Mike Olender relayed to Lambgoat on the matter: "We would like to thank all the people who sent CDs and MP3's, as well as those people who traveled from across the country to come audition. However, even after working closely with our most likely prospect for a couple of weeks, we decided that BBTS is its current four members and our best course of action would be to retain that cohesiveness and turn the band into a new direction that would include more experimentation, more equipment, more volume, and dare I say, more heaviness." The EP of cover songs the band had originally planned to record last month has now put on hold. Instead, the band will use the time to make this transition and write material for their next full-length. Catch the band live this Summer at the following shows: 7/19 Long Branch NJ @ Brighton Bar w/ Kalibas 7/20 Philadelphia w/ Kalibas 8/9 New London CT @ El N Gee w/ Curl Up And Die 8/10 Hessfest 8/17 Portland ME @ The Edge w/ Nora 8/18 Springfield MA @ Fat Cats w/ Nora 9/6 Baltimore MD @ TBA 9/7 Richmond VA @ TBA w/ Alabama Thunderpussy
