Onward To Olympas and drummer part ways
Official press release: Today we announce that Matt Burnside our long time friend and drummer will be parting ways with Onward to Olympas. This has been an extremely tough decision for all parties involved. Matt has left the band on mutual terms and all friendships remain intact. We love Matt and have full confidence that he will succeed in any future endeavor. Matt has written the following statement: "After a long, anxious week, it is with a heavy heart that I bring you news of my departure from Onward To Olympas. It has been decided that it is no longer in the best interest of the band that I remain a part of it. As hard as it's been for me, I do wish the best for my band mates and hope that the Lord blesses them in every way. As it says in Job 1:21 'the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away,' and so this long chapter of my life has come to a close, but I have faith that the Lord will open another one that will bring me closer to what he has planned for my life. This band has been a part of me for 5 great years, filled with many amazing experiences, and I want to thank everybody who has stuck by me over the years by supporting me and cheering me on. Whatever God has planned for me, whether it's another band or something else altogether, I know that it will be something equally amazing! I love playing music and I honestly can't picture myself doing anything else, so hopefully someday I will be back out on the road doing what I love most. Thank you to my family, friends, and (just as importantly) fans for sticking by us over these 5 years; I love you all very much! With that said Matt's last show is October 9th at the Upper Room in Statesville, NC. Admission is only $2.00 so please come out support Matt and Onward to Olympas through this rough time. Lastly, we are pleased to announce that Anthony Fontaine will be the new drummer for Onward to Olympas! We're excited to have him join our family, please make him welcome!
