Intronaut taps Tool bassist for new album

Intronaut has nearly completed work on their new album for Century Media Records. Notably, Tool bassist Justin Chancellor co-wrote and performed a song on the new effort. Here's the official word from Sacha Dunable (vocals, guitars): "Intronaut is beyond stoked to get back out on the road and play some shows with our buddies in Cynic and Dysrhythmia. If you live near any of these cities, be sure to come out! We'll be playing a few songs off our new record, and I could only assume that the other two bands are going to blow your socks off. Speaking of the new record, it's just about done. It's been quite exhausting fine-tuning everything, but it's paid off. Josh Newell is killing it on the production side of things even while bogged down with some more lucrative projects, and we were lucky enough to have this guy Justin (from some band I won't name drop, but will say that it rhymes with 'Cool') come in and co-write/perform on a song with us where we have two drummers and two bassists going at once. That's right folks, pure excess. Other than that, this record rules so much that I'm literally embarrassed to have been a part of everything we've done up until now. Not to sound pretentious, but this is absolutely the best music ever made."

Which means it's automatically going to suck.

beatnic_johnson 7/21/2010 5:20:22 PM

I love how every band that has ever said "its our best material, hands down" ends up being half decent or a complete piece of shit not even worthy of breaking up weed on.

agent_friday 7/21/2010 5:25:26 PM

He's not saying it's the band's best material, he's saying it's 'absolutely the best music ever made.'

@beatnic I typically use all my shitty music/movie purchases to break up weed on because I'm at least getting some use out of it, haha.

So now that Intronaut is going to be opening my third eye and teaching me about the wonder of that child molesting Aliester Crowley, I can now say one of my favorite bands is lost to me.... forever. RIP Intronaut.
