Update on Cataract and new album

Switzerland's Cataract have been busy working on new material as of late. The band will be entering the studio this September or October with long-time producer Alessandro Azzali to begin recording. Mixing will take place in November at Trax East with Eric Rachel at the helm, followed by mastering at West West Side by Alan Douches. The effort has a working title of "Paradigm" and will feature between eleven and thirteen tracks, eight of which have been completely written. According to the band, the material is "more metal, faster, the guitars are more tuned down and the vocals are much more diverse." The record should be out in March of 2003 on Lifeforce Records in Europe. As for the United States, the band still has ties to Ferret Music, but things are very much up in the air. As for touring, they are just days away from a German mini-tour with Absidia. Then in June, they will be hitting France and Spain, followed by more Germany dates in the beginning of July. Finally, this September they will be in Austria for several shows. At this point, Cataract expects to be back in the United States for another tour in June and July of 2003.
