Arsis frontman comes clean about problemsMonday, April 6, 2009 1:53 PM PT / 9,316 views
In a new interview with Noisecreep.com, Arsis mastermind James Malone has revealed that he's been battling a recurrence of anorexia as of late, which explains the group's recent tour cancellations. Malone elaborated, "I just want to start off by saying that I don't have a drug problem of any kind. I know a lot of people were saying that when I released that press statement. The truth is I've had anorexia for the past year or so. It's not the first time I've gone through it either. When I was in college I struggled with it. I finally got past [that] then I started having a drinking problem that I fought with for years. When I stopped drinking last year, the anorexia problems came back." Malone is hopeful that his admission will put to rest the rumors and speculation that surfaced following his initial press release. "I noticed the reader comments on Lambgoat.com and some of them were actually kind of funny but that's expected when I release a vague statement to the press," said Malone. "I'm OK with that [laughter]. Now that I've explained everything, hopefully we could move on." You can read the interview in its entirety here.
