Darkest Hour replaces guitarist

Official press release: Darkest Hour has parted ways with guitarist Kris Norris. Kris will be working on several projects over the next few months. Follow him at www.krisnorris.net. As bandmates, but more importantly as friends, we wish him all the luck. Joining the band is Houston's own Cinderella story, guitarist Mike "Lonestar" Carrigan. Many of you have already seen him rock with us at this year's Thrash and Burn tour. With Lonestar officially on board the band is heading back into the studio to write and record with producer Brian McTernan of Baltimore's Salad Days Studios. About this choice, guitarist Mike Schleibaum comments: "We are excited to work with Brian again. He has been a long time friend and supporter of the band ever since its very first shows in 1995. When we recorded Mark of the Judas with him in 2000, it helped solidify our sound and define us as a band. Eight years later its time to do it again. With all the scars of our past to guide us, we look towards a new future." Darkest Hour will enter the studio in November 2008. Look for a European headlining tour this January, and a new record in the spring of 2009.

xperineumx 9/15/2008 7:38:26 PM

Kris indeed made Darkest Hour who they were. Decent band, but they're way boring live.

bruce_springsteen 9/15/2008 8:55:20 PM

Kris didn't make darkest hour, he added to it, but DH was a respected and known band long before him.

Dave2112 9/15/2008 9:11:29 PM

A hard blow for them regardless, he has a incredible feel. He will be missed but I look forward to hearing his new projects.

xote 9/16/2008 10:10:51 AM

I honestly liked DH before he joined then really didn't like all the guitar wankery after he came in. Fierce Alligience sucks.

Brett_ 9/16/2008 10:30:08 AM

Damn, the link isn't loading. I hope he's doing another Locus Factor album. BRING BACK IN DISINTERMENT.

TheFall44 9/16/2008 10:45:26 AM

The new album is going to sound pretty different considering they are going to Brian....but I think it will sound good none the less. He was a great guitar player...but I am pretty sure things will still be as good, hopefully...

hollowmenwillburn 9/16/2008 11:41:02 AM

I thought that he added too much to an already developed sound. I'm kind of interested to see where this takes them.

xcpointx 9/16/2008 1:16:27 PM

definitely sick of the herpes comments, noone in this band has herpes

YouGotScanned 9/17/2008 12:20:33 PM

Bummer to see Kris go. However, Mike is the man, DH will carry on and continue to slay, and McTernan will make the new album sound amazing. His ante has upped quite a bit since the Judas/Sedated days!

resident_alien 9/19/2008 6:30:44 AM

withoutashield 9/15/2008 10:31:20 PM Raspberry. There's only one man who would dare give me the raspberry. Lone Starr! yeah... what he said
