Unearth recording new album

Official press release: Influential metal quintet Unearth has begun work on its new album. The follow up to the band's acclaimed 2006 release III: In the Eyes of Fire is scheduled to drop this October via Metal Blade Records. Unearth is currently recording at Massachusett's System Recording Studios with producer Adam Dutkiewicz, while the album's drum tracks are being laid to tape by drummer Derek Kerswill (Kingdom of Sorrow, Seemless) at Zing Studios. The as-yet-untitled record is said to feature the band's "most dynamic material to date," combining strong tension and release, abundant guitar solos and a bulldozing power-groove. "Heavy metal shred mayhem! Now with 50% more guitar solos! If the new Unearth songs were laundry detergent, then this is what it would say on the box," dishes Unearth lead guitarist Buz McGrath. "Fortunately for all you metal maniacs, it's not laundry soap but a mind-blowing journey consisting of epic mosh and shred, so we had to call in the one man who could wrangle such a massive beast - Adam Dutkiewicz. We are very excited to be working with him again and between 40 oz. chugging and doing burn-outs in Ken's '82 Corvette, we are recording what will definitely be the best album of our career." A "teaser" look at Unearth working in the studio can be accessed via the band's MySpace page at this location. Additional looks at the recording of the album, including fly-on-the-wall video footage, riffs and excerpts of new music will be made available in the coming weeks.

cant wait for this.....go ahead and call me gay

lordshredder 6/17/2008 5:11:46 PM

Does 50% more solos mean 2 solos to an album now? More shred rules. Good recording choice. Zeuss is better with drum sound and Adam Z is much better with thick guitar tone. Looking forward to this.

jebus 6/17/2008 5:17:43 PM

Unearth is good, but I seriously stopped caring about them yeeeeears ago. Like, when they signed to Metal Blade - and it didn't help either when the last time I saw em live, I saw way more frat bros than metalcore dweebs.

morjens 6/18/2008 10:25:31 AM

Lambgoat fcking sucks, get a life loosers. vanflip this site.

TripleSix 6/18/2008 12:00:33 PM

Unearth are good dudes, except for one of them.

IStillBelieveInWhtWeBuilt 6/18/2008 3:20:59 PM

First off, anyone that says all of unearths albums sound the same is an idiot. Alot of talent in Unearth any way you want to cut it.

bensy 6/18/2008 5:06:43 PM

band sucks now. :(

notransfer 6/18/2008 7:23:38 PM

it seemed like certain riffs in III were recycled from the oncoming storm

ColxGarbage 6/19/2008 1:41:30 AM

III was mediocre except for a couple of good ones...1st two albums and EP were amazing...still like the band and will buy this album but i'm not expecting anything remotely "mind-blowing" at all. Good band.
