Unearth prepares new release

Unearth is currently finishing up the writing process for their next full-length, which they expect to release in October via Metal Blade Records. Frontman Trevor Phipps comments: "Without going into too much detail about the new tunes, it is harder hitting with more groove than any previous Unearth material. If you were in the crowd at one of our shows on this last tour, you got a glimpse of what to expect. Working with Derek Kerswill as our drummer for this album has given us the chance to let the songs grow as they should, the parts build up how they should and have the tunes hit as hard as they should. We are beyond amped about the new stuff and we look forward to giving everyone some new tunes to thrash to real fucking soon."

dudeshredthegnar 4/14/2008 2:17:58 PM ken sucks balls at guitar. the other dude is the one with the major talent. >> they're still both dwarves though. did he really say 'amped' ?

xAndThenYouDiex 4/14/2008 2:35:17 PM

Point .04 ?

lordshredder 4/14/2008 2:40:11 PM

III was the best shit ever musically from Unearth, though the recording production sounded like dull shit. Don't get too groove! Keep it thrashing! MORE SOLOS! Kerswill sounds great on the DVD

jank 4/14/2008 2:41:32 PM

lordshredder....shut the fck up

alangreenspan 4/14/2008 2:45:26 PM

I'll check this out. I enjoyed Justain as the drummer, so I'm skeptical how the new dude will work out.

slothpiece 4/14/2008 2:48:35 PM

Tenth post is the new first post.

hussle 4/14/2008 2:55:13 PM

metal_bob 4/14/2008 3:00:23 PM

I liked the last one enough

Dead_Rabbit 4/14/2008 3:10:54 PM

I used to like this band a little bit. Shit got old FAST...

thevenaedge 4/14/2008 3:15:55 PM

Mortimer 4/14/2008 3:16:44 PM

Mike Justain was the only reason I gave a fck about this band, where is he now? I saw pics of him playing with Shai Hulud...

MarginError 4/14/2008 3:26:21 PM

why can't justain stick with a band? Everyone put out their best material with him behind the kit

coffinworlds 4/14/2008 3:38:24 PM

In the eyes of fire was complete shit.

likeatonabricks 4/14/2008 4:03:26 PM

lordshredder = complete moron. I hope this is even remotely better than the horrible excuse for an album that was the latest release. How can anyone like unearth, and actually like that last album?????

FromHeavensDarkestCorner 4/14/2008 4:04:58 PM

nothing will be better than stings of conscience but still will check out.

The_Suit 4/14/2008 4:32:20 PM

fcking sweet. Where can I pre-order this shit? I want 3 copies.

forumdrama 4/14/2008 4:38:39 PM

This record won't be groundbreaking at all. I guarantee it.

bensy 4/14/2008 4:57:35 PM

A generic rehash JUST like the last album? YAYZ!

CirclePitCasserole 4/14/2008 5:06:17 PM

used to dig them before they got huge and started playin the same generic shit over and over

castro 4/14/2008 5:08:40 PM

studio flip

Danger 4/14/2008 5:44:37 PM

so many of the unearth haters are gonna be on the bands jock when the cd comes out

Chaosweaver 4/14/2008 5:52:21 PM

Oncoming storm was pretty good, newest one was full of boring rehashes. This one will probably be like a mix between new throwdown and swedish metal ripoffs...mark my words

Monty_The_Snake 4/14/2008 6:37:27 PM

*will download illegally*

the_doomsayer 4/14/2008 7:13:01 PM

dracula 4/14/2008 8:07:33 PM

the production on stings of conscience was by far the heaviest. Unearth is starting to sound like audio cardboard. I don't know why so many metal bands are going to a super synthetic recordings. It's almost insulting at times.

ninjacheckmate 4/14/2008 8:12:11 PM

Please get the hick bass player back that was on the blue album!!

cuntjuice 4/14/2008 8:16:59 PM

harder hitting with more groove? shut the fck up

Spike 4/14/2008 9:31:00 PM

I used to like this band a little bit. Shit got old FAST... Agreed. Oncoming Storm was good for a bit but got boring really quickly.

xvegeedgex 4/14/2008 11:17:27 PM

are you kidding? III sounded like shit and was written like shit. ANYTHING FROM THIS BAND IS SHIT! but i will d/l next release out of curiousity.

al_czervik 4/15/2008 12:21:47 AM

they played new (boring) shit live last time i saw them. not enough stuff off of stings of conscience

sgd54 4/15/2008 2:20:37 AM

I hear Helmet's Page Hamilton is helping to write. This should be interesting. Adam D would make the best producer.

piecemaker 4/15/2008 2:27:41 AM

i think they peaked with oncoming storm. hopefully this new one isnt recycled riffs like the last one was. i was really let down with that one.

portslob 4/15/2008 9:07:01 AM

Kerswill is a sick drummer, but i could care less.

thehays 4/15/2008 11:09:10 AM

gay gay and more gay

willxcore 4/15/2008 1:23:59 PM

Now this just means that if I were to ever see them live again (unlikely) they would probably not play anything from Stings of Conscience and will officially be dead to me.

pumpgasinhell 4/15/2008 10:58:04 PM

I love how people in the hardcore scene freak the fck out when new members join. aside from it being a singer, it rarely makes much of a dif at all. fcking cry baby pansies. loyalty should lie in thte music. period. pure gayry

pumpgasinhell 4/15/2008 10:59:01 PM

oh yeah and you all live in the past. fck you

afterburner 4/16/2008 2:18:39 AM

I hope its better then in the eyes of fire. I like their first two albums a lot.

Evilf22 4/16/2008 9:20:33 AM

news only posters are complete gays. i submit the comments on this article as proof. "yea bro, III wasnt nearly as good as c-mstorm!!". shit band, tour bus flip, etc....
