I would argue that at least 1% of Americans in general have terrible mental issues

It's not real but people are being recruited to it at the same time

1% is way to low. It's at least 45%

QAnon people really do believe that stuff though. A few years back my best friend's mom was a completely normal Republican woman. She now believes that Arizona is the only place on the planet that will be safe from the impending "solar minimum" which she thinks is a coming ice age in our lifetimes. She also believes that somehow Trump was the key to preventing it.

All it takes is a few bad youtube videos to turn otherwise rational people into completely delusional people completely divorced from reality. It's actually pretty scary how easy it is to misinform gullible people.

FB and twitter are flooded with either "I'm crying because I can finally sleep now that we have a new president" and "read this article about how it was actually antifa that stormed the Capitol and here's a lawyer that agrees"
