5 Essential Beartooth Non-Singles

Beartooth
Jimmy FontaineBeartooth wasn't supposed to happen... Not by any stretch! Attack Attack! has been a long running joke in metalcore despite their high numbers, but nothing is funny about the fact that the exclamation band spawned three VERY successful bands: Bilmuri, Of Mice & Men, and of course, Beartooth. While Columbus, Ohio will forever be inferior to Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ohio is certainly more for lovers, and we here will forever stan for Beartooth maestro Caleb Shomo. We attempted to list five essential Beartooth non-singles in chronological order and all five of their albums are represented below:
“Sick and Disgusting” from Disgusting (2014)
Beartooth closed their debut album Disgusting with one of the most powerful rock songs ever sans hyperbole. No words can describe “Sick and Disgusting” adequately, but it more than deserves your time. We hear echoes of Korn's self-titled debut album closer “Daddy” in the best way in the tune so even 90s rock heads would dig it. Basically, we just want to be loved, and it'll be alright.
“King of Anything” from Aggressive (2016)
Here's the last of two album closers to be referenced here and it's also a heavy one: “King of Anything” from Beartooth's sophomore full-length studio album Aggressive packs a punch and is the stand out track from the album, which definitely didn't match the high bar set by its former. If you can't take a second of said real talk pain, we'll just keep trying to be the people that you want us to be.
“Infection” from Disease (2018)
Diseases can cause infections, but for some reason or another, this literal “Infection” from Disease doesn't get the love that it deserves. Fun fact: With the exception of the band's recent full-length studio album, all Beartooth LPs have just one-word titles, and having a record called Disease is quite a statement. If you're ever feeling lifeless, under breath, or want to hide underground, just listen to this record in full, but blast “Infection” 2018 times in a row first.
“Phantom Pain” from Below (2021)
Perhaps Beartooth's most underrated album, the band's fourth full-length studio effort Below is HEAVY AF down to the/its last riff. The song title “Phantom Pain” may please both Star Wars enthusiasts and masochists, but Beartooth invites all to the party for lucky track number seven. If you're fed up with our dad jokes, we only have one more entry for the hell of it, so you can truly move on.
“Look the Other Way” from The Surface (2023)
The band's most recent album The Surface may be Beartooth's most polarizing and genre-bending record, but we can't fault an act for experimenting with different sounds, melodies, and the like, especially being that they're five records in (as of now). Please look our way for this particular song and the other underrated tracks that surround it. In a cool curveball and simultaneous flex, country music act Hardy is featured on track four, “The Better Me.”
