guitar center horror story

ok it's more of a psychological thriller. you can say tldr but any GC shopper will relate.
-picking up a new bass. would've shopped local but they had an exclusive color for a 60's p bass that i wanted.
-called ahead and had them set it aside
-show up and they can't find where they set it aside, question if i actually called them
-realized it was on the wall, they never set it aside lol
-bring it up front, this guy making a return says i can go in front of him, he's mid transaction, why would i do that, employee is confused too
-trading in an old epiphone les paul that i don't play, GC employee grabs its, "oh this is definitely chambered". uh okay dude.
-he goes to test it out in the back room. hear terrible shredding noises. he doesn't test any knobs, the intonation, etc, just brings it back and says "it works!"
-he looking at the serial number to pull the typical offer price, looks to the girl that works there "hey look the serial number starts with EE, *makes annoying EEEEEEEEEE noise*".
-GC employee looks to another employee "wanna take over? i wanna go on break" ????
-now the three of them are joking about how one of their moms brought them ice cream
-i finally look at the new guy and go "sooooooooo where were we"
-he's high.
-doesnt realize im buying a guitar so he loads up the money for the trade in to a visa debit card because theres not enough cash in the drawer.
-it took 5 "no's" for him to stop peddling the protection plan to me.
-he cuts the price tag off the bass and hands it to me. realizes he meant to hand me the guitar.
i hope i never have to go back there

one time i was a part of a team stole a really nice ibanez from a big guitar center... not the guitar center... but a big music store.
went in and asked if i could play a guitar, then peppered the salesman with like 100 questions, swearing i was buying it because i had graduation money
my friend walked in with an empty bass case saying he wanted to try out the amps. i kept salesman occupied and he put the RG in the case and walked out. we ate krispy kreme donuts in the shop, 2 blocks from where we stole the guitar.
thats how u do concise.

I, too, like getting 2% of the capital I spent on a guitar back while giving it to a corporation who'll sell it at a 90% profit.

i got 230 for a 10+ year old epiphone, sweetwater has a brand new one at 650. they also offered an additional 10 percent off the new bass with trade in.
so i got a $520 bass for $230 by getting rid of a guitar i dont play, and is probably more f*cked up then the employee knew
