Texas metalcore outfit Kublai Khan unveil their latest music video.
Kublai Khan

If you frequent our site, you've probably heard of Kublai Khan by now.

Just in case you haven't, they're a hardcore/metal band from Northern Texas formed roughly five years ago. Early this year the band signed with Artery Recordings and this past spring they released their Artery debut, a full-length titled Balancing Survival & Happiness.

Today we're happy to premiere the band's brand new video for a track from the aforementioned album. The song is titled "Ghost Pains Part III" and you can check out its video below. Also be sure to keep up with Kublai Khan via Facebook.

Holy generic metalcore

Good dudes, straight forward music, meaningful lyrics, this definitely not "generic" metalcore. Some of the nicest and appreciative guys you'll ever meet. They've paid their dues, glad to see them coming up.

This band sucks.

Remember when Coalesce and Deadguy were "metalcore"? I guess at some point Nu-Metal took the place of good bands. What I'm saying is, this f*cking sucks.

Singers phrasing and breathing is awful....

No one cares how "nice" someone seems. If the music sucks, it sucks. And in this case it most definitely sucks.

They can be the nicest guys all day long, but this is NOT good. Phrasing is bad, and the song sounds like a bad Bury Your Dead ripoff.. (Matt had phrasing but cheesy over intelligent lyrics..) #thanksbutnothanks

this is terrible what the f*ck

This is why I don't listen to any of the bands that have come out in the past five years. Labels popped out of nowhere signing everyone, putting out shit, half-assed releases. Maybe this band is ok live, but I didn't make it passed forty seconds. Put some effort into your recordings and maybe you'll make it another two years.

Music's job is to make you feel something, looks like they are doing their job

Kublai Khan is f*cking good. Metalcore with Hardcore influences. 10/10 would be album again

Sounds like every other band that gets posted in the news lately.

Keep being original!

Haha...you guys really wanna bitch about phrasing? Its cool if you dont like it, youre definitely entitled to your opinion, but bitching about phrasing in a "moshcore" band sorta seems irrelevant.

The vocalist is doing the "look at the ground and kick my feet up in the same place" stage move at the end of the video, obviously a hardcore band. OBVIOUSLY

"Holy generic metalcore" lol this dude is terd, who the f*ck thinks this is metalcore?
anonymous   posted 12/21/2014 2:56:19 PM

I much prefer their 1987 thrash album, "Annihilation," as this sounds like they are just jumping on the metalcore bandwagon to me. Oh wait, they aren't the same band are they? haha. Nerds.

Pure garbage

Phrasing is acutally super important.. If a singer tired out for a hardcore band I was in, and his phrasing was off, and he couldn't fix the issue.. wouldn't happen. Sorry if people enjoy someone who can keep a vocal cadence.
