Sheer Terror "Love You Like A Leper" song premiere

NYC hardcore pioneers Sheer Terror debut a track from their first LP in 18 years.

Sheer Terror

If you've been into hardcore music for any length of time, you've probably heard of Sheer Terror. If not, we'll assume that your definition of "hardcore" doesn't match ours. New York City band Sheer Terror was a staple of the hardcore punk scene for nearly 15 years before disbanding in 1998. Personally, I once saw Sheer Terror open for Sick of It All and frontman Paul Bearer mercilessly berated the Philadelphia audience in-between songs, nearly inciting an uprising. Bearer didn't care. Sheer Terror didn't care. They weren't looking to please anyone, which was what a lot of people liked about Sheer Terror in the first place. Anyway, we're not here to give you a history lesson, but we'll always encourage our younger readers to learn about influential bands that were here before they were born, so read up.

Sheer Terror resurfaced briefly in 2004 and 2010, but they're now set to release their first new full-length since 1995's Love Songs For The Unloved. Titled Standing Up For Falling Down, the album was recorded earlier this year with Dean Baltulonis (Madball, No Warning, American Nightmare) in Brooklyn, and Sheer Terror fans won't be disappointed.

Standing Up For Falling Down will hit streets on July 15th. But today we're thrilled to exclusively premiere the song "Love You Like A Leper" below. Moreover, you can pre-order the release here and get 10% off by using this coupon code: HERETOSTAY. What are you waiting for?! You know what to do.

Change the name as it's not Sheer Terror without Alan Blake and/or Mark Neuman. Those guys, not Paul, wrote ALL the music ST made their bones with (the 1st lp the only good record they ever put out as the pre-1st lp demos and all the albums after the 1st lp are crap.) ST is overrated. Paul is funny as shit but I dare him to play a ST set without playing a single song off Just Can't Hate Enough. And if ST dropped that album altogether attendance at their shows would drastically plummet. D
