Century exclusive - "Obelisk"

Century will be releasing their next Prosthetic Records effort in less than a week (August 30th). The new album is called "Red Giant" and you can purchase it online here.

Anyway, since Century mastermind Carson Slovak unwisely spends time on our message board, we thought Lambgoat would be a good place to premiere one of the album's tracks. So, be a sport and have a listen. Then head to the message board and tell Carson he's a gift to mankind.

I must say, I've loved all 4 tracks I've heard from this CD so far and will be buying it. I just wish it was a little longer than 33 minutes especially since they supposedly had 16 songs they trimmed down to only 10.

Band rules. More people need to listen to this band and less Xibalba or whatever flat-brim bullshit the kids are jocking these days.

lol at Carson reveiwing his own album 4 times (above). Do you think they sound inbetween stray from the path and after the burial to jump on that shitty shitty band wagon??? I think so. Way to be mediocre guys.

Things I've never done:

- posted a comment here until now
- heard Stray From The Path or After The Burial
- posted anonymously after having my feelings hurt on the message board.

I just bought the CD today from a store that gets things in early. I fcking love this CD! Great mix of punk, hardcore, and metal. Track #7 I think is my favorite so far how it goes from a very dark melancholy sound to a very hooky chorus. Every song is very different songwriting wise. Very heavy. The vocals get a little drowned out by the guitars. The almost overwhelming buzzsaw guitar sound on this album kind of reminds me of Lagwagon's "Double Plaidinum" album which is a great thing in my book

Thanks man! And thanks to the other people who had nice things to say. I very much appreciate it.

horrible vocals. like, really really horrible. sounds completely forced and has no flow. i also think you guys took some riffs from KoRn.

Hey Carson, I remember you guys saying somewhere you had like 16 songs or so and chose 10 for the album. Did you actually record those remaining 6 or songs as well and is there a chance they will get released as an EP at some point? Really digging this album!

cool track never heard these guys, kinda reminds me of blood has been shed

@HBdad - Sorry, just now saw this. We recorded really rough demos of everything but only ended up finishing the 10 songs on the album with vocals. The other songs are pretty cool, just didn't fit with the rest of what the album ended up being. We might end up using them down the road. Thanks again for the nice words.
