Official press release:

Huntsmen continue disrupting the traditional and the expected doomscape of experimental heaviness with their gritty yet atmospheric progressive style of Americana metal. Today, the Chicagoland outfit unveil "The Barrens," a brand new single from their upcoming label debut, American Scrap.

Watch the video for "The Barrens" now streaming at New Noise Magazine.

When asked about the inspiration behind "The Barrens" Huntsmen tells New Noise: "The Barrens is about the scale and cacophony of war. When we think of this song, it's about a young soldier on the front lines of a brutal future war in the desert. Is the desert overseas? Is it in our own country? Either way, she misses home and thinks of days spent in the dust and quiet of her old house. Meanwhile, angels scream and rain fire on the land. The video is meant to be as about as random and unsettling as what she is feeling."
