Pennsylvania's This Day Forward (TDF) began in 1996 as a means for five similar, but also unique individuals to use music as an outlet for emotional baggage. The band recorded its first demo in July 1998, and eventually released it's first full-length, "Fragments Of An Untold Story Born By Shunning The Opportunity," on Breakeven Records in April 1999. The band would eventually join the Eulogy Recordings roster (Unearth, Twelve Tribes), and release its best effort to date, "The.Transient.Effects.of.Light.on.Water." With a sound very reminiscent of early Converge, TDF plays driving metalcore with melodic overtones and heavy riffs. The band has gone on a number of tours in support of the new record, and Eulogy has recently re-released TDF's first full-length. The band has also showed up on several Breakeven Records comps early in its career. More-recently, TDF released its “Kairos” CDEP on Eulogy in early-2002.
