Emotional, passionate, and political are only a few of many words that can describe Delaware's Boy Sets Fire. After the band's inception, it would release its self-financed debut seven inch, 'Consider' (1995), as well as a split LP with Jazz Man's Needle, entitled 'This Crying This Screaming My Voice is Being Born' on Magic Bullet Records (1996). BSF would then join the ranks of Initial Records (Ink and Dagger, Silent Majority), releasing its debut full-length, 'The Day the Sun Went Out' in 1997, and its 1998 'In Chrysalis' CDEP. The band would be courted by Victory Records for one full-length, 'After the Eulogy' (2000), before moving to the majors and signing a deal with Wind-up Records (Creed), where 'After the Eulogy' was re-released with a bonus track. Throughout its career, BSF has also participated on several compilations and tribute albums, as well as split seven-inches Buffalo's Snapcase (Equal Vision) and Shai Hulud (Crush 'em All - A Metallica tribute on Undecided). An import only single, "Suckerpunch Training" on Join the Team Player Records (Darkest Hour), has recently been released stateside by Deathwish Incorporated (the Dedication, Converge, Jesuseater). The band has toured vigorously around the world with numerous bands, such as Sick of it All, Avail, and Snapcase. Musically, the band combines metal-tinged hardcore with emo, while vocals range from urgent screaming to singing. BSF truly use hardcore to its fullest potential to convey the band's socio-political perspectives to its audience and the world. hide
