San Francisco's Time In Malta began in writing music, rehearsing, and recording in 1994. The band's name was inspired by a number of literary, historical, and personal references. The band would record a demo in the winter of 1997/1998, and embark on a tour in the Northwest that spring. Time In Malta would then record its third and final demo in late-1998, and caught the interest of Escape Artist Records (ISIS, Burn It Down). The band would then soon release its Escape Artist debut EP in 1999, "Construct and Demolish." Since, the band has released a seven-inch, "Identify.Persist.Transcend.," experienced some line-up changes, and toured extensively. Recently, the band has found a new home with New York's Equal Vision Records. The band's Equal Vision debut release, "A Second Empire," was released in mid-2002. Displaying its ability to create versatile music, Time In Malta combines rock, hardcore, melody, and emo to create noisy yet emotional music. read less
