Post CommentAgreed. This record is a huge step backward for The Haunted.
I havent heard it but i'm pretty bummed that so far no one likes it. It must really be that bad. I'll give it a shot none the less.
if cory reviewed this album it would have gotten an 8/9/10 easily. sucks for the haunted he didnt get this one. now their careers are over. cory's good reviews = successful careers.
i would've scored it much, much lower. This is one of the worst records of the year.
damnn this sucks .... the haunted is the shit ... but wtf is this shit honestly
Pfft, looks like somebody just doesn't "get" post-thrash.
I disagree with this review, not his opinion, but his review... everyone can have their own opinion, that's cool, but these riffs on the new album aren't rehashed at all, and if they are, back it up with some examples. His singing is not half-assed, it's quite unique (slightly southern, yes), strong and confident. Yea the drumming is less forceful this time because-guess what-it's not thrash metal anymore, and instead of forcing it to be something it isn't they actually had the drums fit the
way to over-analyze shit. shut the f*ck up.
Dolving made 2 albums with rock band Mary Beats Jane in the early 90's, on a major label. It was inevitable that he would eventually return to rock. To be honest, he has the voice for it. As you can read in my review of rEVOLVERr, I felt that it was an album where the band was washed up and rehashing thrash riffs, and that's why I didn't like it. I would give Dead Eye a 7 for a number of reasons, even though I despised it when it first came in the mail. First, except for certain thrash parts (wh
^^^^ I like seeing a second opinion on this record. I wish lambgoat would sometimes post two or more reviews per album. It would be interesting to see different outlooks on each album... and it might curb everybody hating every review... which is stupid. Anyways... just a thought.
Every album by this band would rip if they would just cut the shit. No singing bull shit. No talking bullshit. Just thrash.
their first album was one of my favorite cds for a long time. they've steadily declined since. i tried listening to this album but lost interest after literally a minute of cycling through tracks.
So did I, drew, but if you give it more time it becomes good...how can you love Come Clarity so much but not this?
this band is, and always has been, crap... listen to Dark Tranquility and early Evergrey...
It's an ok album, I'd give it at least a 7, track 4 and 8 are the best songs, they are poppy, but good. Destroys the last 2 Soilwork albums by far, isn't quite as good as In Flames last two though, so it falls somewhere in between.
crappy album.... new in flames blows... by the way its all about the jester race
How come everybody hates this album? I think it's great! Songs may have a catch or two but is that really so bad thing? Dosn't sound like The Haunted. Open your ears man!
This record isn't as bad as all the reviews I've seen. It reminds me of The Crown a bit with a little more Queens of The Stone Age and more clean southern vocals. The Crowning track 4 is a great song. I've give it a 7/10, it's not entirely horrible, and it's catchy as hell. This review makes it sound like they stooped to Atreyu or Killswitch Engage status, which is not the case, these guys are still 10 times better than the last Soilwork - Stabbing The Drama as a referrence.
first post. i listened to it at the local record shop last night. poop.
