Post CommentI sometimes wonder why I even bother with this site. I knew the score before I looked in the review becasue of the genre. Not a ten, but certainly not a 5.
total conventional metalcore. so don't f*ck up to this band of plus!
I really liked their first record but this is "average" metalcore cookie cutter bullshit. I gave it one listen and now its on deck incase I can't pay the electric bill.
Wow, what a terrible review. This site seems to have something against christianity. It's getting old.
Still have no idea what the album sounds like. I guess lambgoat will let anyone review an album these days. Stick to the fan reviews section Patrick.
"This band is the prototypical example of "Christian Metalcore." "Overcome and Zao...more metal" "no steam" "uninspired chugs and poorly delivered lyrics." Did you even read the review?
"this site seems to have something against christianity..." did you read the review? he made it pretty clear their faith is a non-issue.
No offense, but 3 lines that actually say what the album is like with four paragraphs of shit is not a review. Typical metalcore? f*ck yeah. Is it shit? I don't believe so. Every review of a christian band turns into a review on religion or the members of the group. This kids reviews remind me more of a pahardcore.com review. And this album did deserve, AT MOST a 6.
Although I agree with the review (Average...typical generic Christian metalcore), I still think religion as a whole is getting out of hand with how much it takes the focus out of the music...Not to say that this review is precisely what kind of a record this is, average.
wow, i am surprised that this record wasnt as good as the e-card made it to be.
like the very first thing he said was that the religious aspect doesnt affect his opinion. he then goes on to poke fun at kids who are so anti-god. not a christian bashing review at all. and as far as talking about the music, how much of a description do you need? if you listen to enough of those bands, "conventional metalcore" should be pretty self-explanatory - that means it explains itself.
hahah...where the hell does he poke fun at christian kids in this review? i think you saw a mirage or something.
nice review! These guys are too f*cking overrated
AWFUL review. I do not know what album the rest of you heard but they definately put a new spin a stale genre
So in other reviews, it should be stated that this is "non-Christian" metalcore? I wouldn't expect much positive in this review; your preference seems to be toward indie rock...
you're a gay patrick. and again. talk about the damn music.
this rear site gives retarded bands good reviews. and so sip owns all your shit music f*ckers.
I agree this isn't the best album and a 5 is a good score, but this is by far the WORST review I've ever read. I don't care about your rant on religion or the classification of "Christian metalcore," tell me about the music, after all this IS a music site
honestly, how can you complain about him not talking about the record? did you read the review? apparantly the cd is so stale and cliched as to warrant one sentance that sums up the entire album 'I felt tired after listening to twelve tracks of uninspired chugs and poorly delivered lyrics.' Nowhere in the artical does he attack Christianity. Patrick does put down Christian metalcore, though not because it's Christian, but because the majority of it is bland and easily predictable.
Listen this band asks for a $400 guarantee at their shows, maybe they won't anymore because they don't have a "former member of zao". I did however think the tampax ad part was f*cking hilarious....good one patrick.

I think they're cool dudes and all...the band really isnt that good...but 400 bones? sheesh. and that tampax comment was amaz
This is such a lame review. Christian metalcore is predictable... yes... but isn't all metalcore predictable. Same with most styles of music, everything has been done so many times that of course we will know what will happen next. Unless its noise/tech you can pretty much say ok fast part here comes a breakdown. Whats your point? So lame.
I like to listen to this album on repeat and watch Donnie darko to see if it has any significance. So far....no
regaurdless of religion, or anything else that shouldnt biasis the listener, the album was solid. the reviewr seemed to focus, even with his reasurrance, too much on the bands tie to religion. from start to finish, each song carries its own wieght, with a gem or two inbetween. personal faith shouldnt make a difference, review the music, not the peoples beliefs.
This site does bash christianity too much in every review of a christian band. its old. its lame. it should stop. and holy crap, stop comparing everything to lamb of god, they were never good and never will be
You f*cking shithead. You don't know the first thing about Christian Metalcore; we put a lot of time and effort into this CD, and it's one of the heaviest releases of the year. We better not catch you around at any shows, because if my crew sees you, you'll wish you never got out of bed that day. Oh, and to everyone who actually CARES about this record, listen up! Thanks to everybody who bought it already but for those who have not been able to find it, try TARGET, yes TARGET is stocking it for
first post. while i agree that the record was average, maybe the reviewer should spend a little more time actually talking about the record...
