Unearthly Trance breaks up

Long Island, NY sludge/doom metal band Unearthly Trance has called it quits. Since forming roughly twelve years ago, the band has released material with Southern Lord and Relapse Records, among others. An explanation has not been offered, with the band simply stating, "We have decided it was right time and this time it is for real. Thanks to all the people around the world who have supported us in any way."

Really sad news. They were one of the most original and powerful bands in NYC, before it was over run with hipster black metal. Was looking forward to a new record after the intensity of V.
