Chris Cornell laid to rest in Hollywood

A memorial service was held today for late Soundgarden and Audioslave vocalist Chris Cornell, after which Cornell was laid to rest in the Garden of Legends section of Hollywood Forever Cemetary in Los Angeles, CA.

Cornell, 52, was pronounced dead on May 18 in a Detroit hotel room.

A slew of celebrities and musicians were hand for the service, during which Linkin Park vocalist performed Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." According to the Associated Press, attendees included James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Brad Pitt, Pharrell Williams, Christian Bale, Gavin Rossdale, Dave Navarro, and Joe Walsh.

Meanwhile, eulogies were delivered by Cornell's bandmates Kim Thayil (Soundgarden), Matt Cameron (Soundgarden), and Tom Morello (Audioslave), in addition to actor Josh Brolin.

Cornell was buried near punk rocker Johnny Ramone, where the pair rest among other notables, including Cecel B. DeMille and Jayne Mansfield.

Cornell is survived by his wife, Vicky, and three children.
