Official press release:

Indie Recordings is proud to announce the addition of Satanic black metallists Nettlecarrier to its roster. The Norwegian band consists of T. Ciekals (Djevel, Ljå), Mannevond (Koldbrann, Urgehal) and Dirge Rep (Orcustus, Gehenna, Gorgoroth, Enslaved).

Nettlecarrier was originally formed in 2004 when, according to T. Ciekals, "I had been in contact with Mannevond a few years back and we were both fans of each others bands." The two had a burning desire to create an older and more sinister sound that was unique to any other black metal band around. Following the addition of the band's former drummer Vold came their first release, a 7" called "To Strangle The Hero Of Heaven."

Despite the title's underground success, Nettlecarrier was put on hold for almost three years. "I left Ljå in 2007 to focus on Djevel and Mannevond was busy with Urgehal, but Nettlecarrier wasn't dead, just buried for a while," stated T. Ciekals. Following the release of the Djevel album, Ciekals was finally able to focus on Nettlecarrier and in 2010, with addition of the talented drummer Dirge Rep, set out to record a new album.

Indie Recordings will release Nettlecarrier's new self- titled album on September 25th in North America (September 21st for Europe), which will carry on with the proud tradition of obscure and evil black metal originating from the icy Norwegian wilderness that the band is known for.
