This Is Hardcore Fest
organizers have announced that This Is Hardcore 2012 will take place at The Electric Factory, a sizeable venue in Philadelphia with a capacity of nearly 3000 people.
I've been to the Electric Factory many times and it's a nice place, with a full balcony area and a large stage. This is definitely an upgrade for the festival.
This year's festivities will take place on Thursday August 9th at the Union Transfer, and on August 10, 11, and 12 at the Electric Factory.
This Is Hardcore organizer Joe Hardcore sums up his decision in this manner:
"It is fitting to say that this is the beginning of our journey into the new home for TIH. The Electric Factory – 421 North 7th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19123 is the new home for This Is Hardcore 2012.
"I can say that after 6 years of taking this festival from an idea jotted in a spiral notebook into a annual festival that seems to grow exponentially with each passing summer, I am surprised we've got to this point.
"I know behind the doors of this venue lies a lot of questions and ideas as to how the fest will be with a new home. I can tell you that I searched far and wide and could never have been more excited about the possibilities that lay ahead for all of us."
Joe then goes on to discuss his decision in great detail, and explains the particulars of the Electric Factory. You can read all that here
The lineup has yet to be announced, but will be unveiled in May.
