Official press release:
Flourishing has begun recording its debut full-length album, the follow-up to 2010's acclaimed A Momentary Sense of the Immediate World EP.
With the help of engineer Ryan Jones (Star Fucking Hipsters, Seasick, Mutilation Rites), the band has transformed its Brooklyn rehearsal space into a studio and is now midway through the tracking process. Mastering will be handled by Alan Douches (Converge, Mastodon) at West West Side Music. As yet untitled, the album will see a summer 2011 release on The Path Less Traveled Records, the label that released Flourishing's A Momentary Sense of the Immediate World EP, as well as albums by Imbroglio, Body Hammer, and more.
Flourishing vocalist/guitarist Garett Bussanick, also a member of Wetnurse, describes the new material as being more varied and exploratory than the EP, while still retaining the left-of-center deathgrind the band is known for. States Bussanick, "Where deathgrind was mainly at the fore on the last release, it's now been joined by more equal measures of ambience and melody."
