do you have a private well? or are you connected to a public water supply? please tell me all about your experience...buying a new house soon & i think i'm scared of wells...

i have a well. we had a water conditioning system put in to remove sulfur smell and iron etc.. i have to feed solar salt into it monthly, it sucks.

if you get a conditioning system, don't skimp on it, get the crazy reverse osmosis fcking nuts thing.. spend 8 grand on it, maybe try and wrap it into the sale.

make sure you have a newer water heater in there too cuz it can get fcked up over time with well water. Also, get a conditioning system because it keeps your washer/dryer/dishwasher/fa ucets/pipes less rusty

that said.. wells work and if there is an apocalypse or chemical warfare i'll be glad i have one
shitinyourhand 12/7/2017 10:38:15 AM
i should say "apocalyptic event" that i end up surviving somehow

that is one major selling point. however, we have a fair amount of groundwater & environmental contamination in most of CT :-(

well.. when you buy it.. use it as a way to get more out of the sale. i'm not sure how many houses you've bought, but use the conditioning system or any other stuff you need to make sure everything is in order as bargaining chips

I spend my whole day drawing utility maps and letting people know where the city services are...all whilst blasting death metal (on my headphones, not many fans in the office). Putting in some new sewers while listening Pyrrhon right now...

julesitsjeni 12/7/2017 2:26:20 PM
Which is scarier? Ground water contamination or lead in your pipes?!?!? Either way just buy water
BULLETHEAD 12/7/2017 2:28:05 PM
neither of those are even slightly scary
