I don't even know if it makes sense to lump Nintendo in with Microsoft and Sony anymore anyways. They've been pulling away from those companies since about halfway through the WiiU cycle. Seems like a smart move on their part to extricate themselves from the massive e3 presentations, too. There's enough uncertainty about the future of generational console platforms as it stands, seems like this is the right time to maybe shake things out.

I've fucked around with a WiiU and had a pretty good time, but I'm mostly interested in seeing weirdo games made specifically for that platform, rather than play some sub-par ports of AAA titles.

So far, I don't know if anyone can reasonably make the call between PS4 or XBONE. Both "reveals" were so dramatically different. I'm leaning toward PS4 at the moment, while Microsoft basically named a console and went back to its mostly-standard messaging about it being a main media hub-thing for everyone. Until Sony gets real on services and actual functionality and Microsoft talks about games other than the tentpoles everyone already knew would be on there, I won't feel like I have enough info to make a call.

It's a huge download for a pretty short demo. Really only starts popping off in X-Com style on the back nine of the 2nd mission before they flash the "BUY OUR GAME PLZ" screen.

Already pre-ordered, so didn't hugely bug me. Really looking forward to it. I liked the original games, but I don't hold them with the same kind of creepy reverence the people that raged over the FPS do.

Dragon Age: Origins remains a stupendous high point in RPGs.

Neither is really Dragon Age-ish. If McFeters were still alive, he'd be all up on DAII, but I didn't like it.

Got Saints Row the Third instead of Witcher 2. That game is nuts. Playing the campaign co-op with the fiance. Good times.

Actually killed Crawmerax in Borderlands over the weekend. Yeah, everybody and their dog has glitched him already, but I failed even glitching him.

This just in: Borderlands is still terrific.

Also picked up Rage and LA Noire.
