Formed in 1990, New York's Merauder spent its early days playing numerous shows with Sick of it All, Cro-Mags, Mötörhead, Morbid Angel, and Carnivore. During that period, the band would release a pair of demos, while appearing on the East Coast Assault comp. To bolster the unit's potential, Merauder recruited new singer Jorge, formerly of Full Contact. From that point, the band was pushed to the front of the metalcore movement of the '90's. The band would write material and tour, before showing up on a split 7" with Stigmata. Following the release, Merauder would embark on a tour with Biohazard, despite being unsigned to a label. In mid-1995, Century Media Records (God Forbid, Shadows Fall) would add the band to its roster. Merauder's debut Century Media release would be "Master Killer", followed by its second effort, "Five Deadly Venoms". A lesson in aggression, Merauder churn out thick, no-nonsense, New York-style metallic hardcore. hide
